As of July, 2008, Alberta Oil is owned and published by Venture Publishing, the award-winning publisher of Alberta Venture magazine. The publisher of Alberta Oil is Ruth Kelly, the president of Venture Publishing. Ruth has received multiple awards for her contributions to Alberta’s economy and community.

Alberta Oil is edited by Gordon Jaremko, one of Alberta’s most-respected energy journalists. Gordon’s experience includes 25 years at the Calgary Herald, four years at the Edmonton Journal and seven years as the editor of Oilweek magazine. He is a frequent speaker on the issues of the energy sector to both industry and the general public and has co-authored two books on the topic.

The magazine has been redesigned by Theresa Kwan, under the direction of Venture creative director Malcolm Brown. Malcolm most recently received the Gold Medal for best designed magazine in Canada for Venture’s Unlimited magazine. Theresa’s publication design experience includes Avenue magazine, Azure, Harry, Holts and Chatelaine.

The redesigned Alberta Oil will measure an expansive 9” x 10.75” to accommodate the big ideas of the magazine. The perfect bound magazine will be printed on premium coated stock and will offer the high quality look that has made Alberta Oil a choice for so many discerning readers, complemented with thoughtful and thought-provoking content.
